Method. Weeks are 7-day periods ending on the newest permit date in the Comptroller's data. A "new business" is a sales-tax outlet permit issued that week whose first sale is no more than 90 days before the 12-week window; individuals are excluded. Industries are groups of NAICS codes (for example, Roofing = 238160). Service businesses that don't collect sales tax are not counted. See it on the map · Export a list
